i was going to mention the vht sig x or cl50 but like you said hard to find or back ordered.... i've been eyeing the laney tt100 and i think there's a guy selling on on HC for like 1000.... have you considered a splawn quicrod or nitro... they sound f&*king amazing ... also what about a bad cat or dr z??

and now I'm thinking....

stiletto is the only el34 beastmaster amp out there with recto tube option as well as silicon diodes.

marshall ain't got that (at least not jcm 800 and after).

and the newer marshalls don't seem to have a 50/100watt switch. the 900's had that.

actually a mesa roadking has both 6L6 and EL34. and a roadster can accept 6L6 and EL34 with a bias switch.

If you don't have a band and already have a big amp, why do you want another?

If you are jamming in the studio a 5Watter would be a nicer option.

Just my 2 cents.

it really depends on the tone your going for? Lately I've been eyeing a Maverick 4 x 10 with the jensons to compliment my TOV. I'm either going with that or I'm going to run with a marshall/splawn if i run my recto with kt77s in place of the 6L6's. Have you considered a 2ch dual or triple? there you have the 34 or 6l6 option..

Saying a Lonestar, Recto, or Road King gets the Marshall sound with EL34's in them is like saying a Marshall would sound like a Fender or a Recto when set up with 6L6's. They are different animals. If you prefer EL34 tube sound you have to get an amp built to exploit these tubes. Get a Laney, Stiletto, Splawn or whatever that is a REAL EL34 based amp and not a jack of all trades.

jcm900 is an amp I've never been able to like

well tell that to Morbid Angel and Dave Navarro. JCM900's aren't that great but they're not bad at all for the price. especially used as a slave power amp...
That's just related to my personal experience, I'm sure many guitarists out there have been able to achieve nice tones out of it. As you said, Navarro is a good exaple if he used it.

cant speak for morbid angel but navarro uses a bunch of od pedals infront to get his crunch and lead tones.... he's definitely a pedal ***** atleast when i saw him 2 summers ago in AC
