I have to ask...where did you buy it? Was it online somewhere (if so where) or a local place?
Great Riffs BTW.

I seriously loved those clips. Honestly some of the most to my taste amp/guitar clips i have ever heard, seriously. My recto is close to that but if it sounded like that i would never turn it off. Both clips were great and congrats for the purchase. That amp is AWESOME sounding.

dude u are my new hero. All of your clips are the ****. Your tone and your guitar playing awesome. I loved the RIP and MR. Crowley. Great work. Btw how long have u been playing.
And who is RIP done by

i've been playing for about 9 or 10 years now. RIP was a song that the singer of my old band recorded in the early 90's, and then wanted me to update. so i just threw the recording into cakewalk, put down two rhythm guitar tracks, and laid a solo down. it was basically just to see if there was any saving the song, but even with heavier guitars it still sounded pretty dated.

Wow, thanks for the compliments guys. I'm in the middle of moving and getting settled into the new place, but I'll have some full songs up on my myspace page soon. If you're interested, keep checking this http://www.myspace.com/canteli

No worries, you deserve it. I've just sent a friends request through on myspace so I don't miss out ;)

I have a question for ya, How does the ENGL do a Heavy Modern rock? By the way your clips sound rediculous. Awesome playing and awesome sounding amp. That is why i am curious as to it's more modern/heavy tones and not just the full blown metal.

The Savage sounds great for modern rock. If I click off the contour and depth switches it has a very recto-ish quality to it, but without the low end sag that I hate. I love this amp because while I'm not in a band at the moment, I do fill in for other bands quite often. I'm playing with a modern hard rock band in October at The Chance in Poughkeepsie, NY...and this thing has my clean, lead, and dirty channels all covered. Then if I wanted to, with the flick of a few switches it turns into an all out metal machine.

I used to run a relatively large live rig with a Dual Recto, a Mark IV, a Line 6 POD and a fair amount of rack gear. Now my rig consists of my guitars --->noise gate--->tuner--->amp. Then I just throw a Line 6 DL4 in the loop and that's it. I have my 4 channels, plus two different footswitchable presence controls, footswitchable volume controls, and channel three has two different EQ and gain stages to choose from.

I am incredibley intrigued now. I wish i could find somewhere local to try one out. Because that amp really sounds badass in your metal clips, and while i don't generally play anything that metal related it just sounds too killer to not be intrigued. Would it be way too much to ask for you to record a few modern clips/clean clips if you have some spare time? Thanks in advance~!

Hey Nitro, nice clips! How does the Savage compare to the Powerball or the new Invader? Do you know what the differences are between the 3 amps? Don't know that much about Engl but I am definately interested in finding out.

I haven't tried the Invader, but I personally think the Savage 120 smokes the Powerball. It's just as tight, but not as sterile sounding. It also can get a grittier, Rectoish quality to it if you want that...as well as the ENGL smooth, tight gain they're known for.

As sad as I am to say this though, I'm actually selling my Savage. It's a sick amp, but I have the opportunity to pick up some pretty incredible toys...so I'm going to sell the ENGL to fund it.

man i really like this tone a lot!!
i have a triple rec and i love it but that ENGL has the sound i'm really looking for. is it pretty much impossible to get a tone similar to either clip with my triple recto?
