a few weeks ago i turned on my Mark V, and some weird stuff has been happening.

when you turn it on, there is no sound, and no lights on the front of the amp turn on. The tubes however, do light up. The fuse seems to be ok, and i recently had the amp fully retubed.

Any ideas what might be going on?

thanks in advance guys

Hmmm the fact that you say you have no lights on the front of the amp, no sound, and your fuse is good sounds like a problem indeed. I would call a Mesa repair center. You can find a list of US and International cervice centers here --> http://www.mesaboogie.com/US/Dealers/dealers___support.htm

I work with a buddy who also owns a Mark V. Well he retubed his amp for the first time and accidentaly installed a rectifier tube in a power tube slot and visa versa. He told me he had the amp upside down and misread the diagram. Welp it fried his amp! He about had tears in his eyes telling me the story. He brought it to a Mesa repair center close to where we live. About a week later he got his amp back and it only cost him about 100 bucks to fix. His warrenty would not cover his obvious mistake but because he had it repaired at an authorized repair center it did not void the 5 year warranty for the remaining time left on it.

I am an electronics techician so i feel comforatable troubleshooting myself. I personally would pull the tubes and turn it on in standby just to see if the lights turn on. If not turn it off immediatly before something else goes. If they did come back on .. i would then install pre amp tubes one at a time.... turn on in stanby .. check for lights ... rinse and repeat.

good luck!

Hi Chaosmaker911

I got THE SAME EXACT problem with my Mark Five.... No sound, no lights but the tubes glow and fuse seems to be ok .... did you ever figured out what was wrong with it?

Thanks man!

Hi All,

New to the forum, long time reader, first time posting.

Yesterday I turned my Mark V on and am experiencing the EXACT same issue as the original poster of this thread. Today I changed the Fuse (which looked fine) and swapped out the power tubes and rectifier tube as a first measure.

Still no luck. No Lights on the front, no sound. The tubes light up and so does the caution light in the rear of the amp over the bias switch. Has anyone had any luck diagnosing this issue?

The amp is still under its 5 year warranty.

I appreciate any help

I would call rick at MESA customer servie/repair, he is an awesome guy and will get you sorted out and rockin asap!
Cheers
Mark

Thanks Mark!

I spoke to Chris and will be bringing it into a local authorized shop for repair. I'll post results back when done.

The same thing happened to me at a gig this weekend.
Prior to that I had problems with the sound disappearing for a moment then coming back.
The amp also switched from Ch3 to Ch1 at the same time.
Any luck finding the problem?
