So how do you think these 6L6's will work in a Mark or IV?

On a whim I bid and won these 6L6's. I wonder if they will be okay in my Mark III or IV...

Those are Sylvanias, rebranded RCA. They're the same as the STR387 (415, in Mesa nomenclature).

They can work great, if they bias correctly - which is not a high probability.

I know that they are Sylvainas 8) Which, to me, is just as good as the RCAs. I poped them in my MArk IV and they worked fine with no problems and sounded good, but I was curious what Mesa is looking for in bias when you buy tubes from them stock. I may just mod my III and IV to have adjustable bias. It is not that hard to do and will allow me to dial in any tubes

I just looked at my notes. The STR-415's read about 26mA in the inner positions on my C+. I also have some Philips 7581A's that read about 28mA in this same amp. If they'e anywhere near 25-30mA, I say go for it w/o an adjustable bias. 8)
