Hey just picked up my first ever mesa/boogie amp, it's a mark III ???? and has a blck dot or stipe by the cord. It also has 1/2 power switch and a EQ,

my transformer says

562003
Mesa eng.
simul-class
EIA606-510

All the back plate says is mesa-boogie ltd
and serial numer is 16581

but i have no switch on the back

is it a simlu-class???? Is it a mark III????

It has a rhythm 2 pull switch making it a III right???

Congrats on your MkIII! I got mine about a month ago, got a really good deal on it & I'm still in the "honeymoon"stage with mine. In my opinion, I think MK III's are underated amps. I get a great metal tone out of mine, though I haven't tried other settings on it yet. Putting EL-34's in the outer sockets will really warm up & balance out that 6L6 top end "sizzle". Also, if you just run it in Class A mode (1/2 power) it has a really cool dark sound thats still freakin' loud, & I can't beileve that its only 15 watts.

Is it a head or a combo? Mine is a head, & it seems to like Vintage 30's :D
