I just picked up a Mark III (purple stripe, simulclass, EQ reverb, EVM-12L) a couple days ago... it's my official return to Mesa amps. I sold both of my Mesas (Mark IV, Rectoverb) last year when I bought my Randall MTS combos, but I've never found a module that's quite like the Mark series LD tone.

While the III isn't quite as flexible as the IV I had, I am still digging the tone. I'm struggling a bit coming up with settings that work well across all 3 channels (everything I've read says it's virtually impossible to find settings that work across all 3 channels, but I'm bound & determined to find 'em anyway). So based on my tweaking so far, here's my current settings:

Volume: 8 pulled
Treble: 5 pulled
Bass: 4
Middle: 6
Master: 1 pulled
Lead drive: 5
Lead master: 4 pulled
EQ: out
Presence: 5
Reverb: 4

This yields tones I really like on R2 and LD, with R1 being a bit overdriven (which can be toned down with the guitar's volume knob at least). If I have to compromise, I'd rather have a good R2 and LD tone, let R1 suffer a bit, then A/B switch with my Fender Deluxe Reverb for pure clean tones.

So, how do all you mark III owners have your amps set up?

Here mine on my Mark III Blue Stripe Simulclass 60/100:
Volume: 6 pulled out
Treble: 7 pulled out
Bass: 4 pulled out
Middle: 5
Master: 2 pulled out
Lead drive: 6
Lead master: 4 pulled out
EQ: out
Presence: 0
reverb: 6

Settings I use for my '89 MkIII Blue Stripe Simul-Class head:

Volume - 6.5 or 7 pulled (depends on guitar)
Treble - 7.5 pulled
Bass - 3 pulled
Middle - 4 pulled
Master - 2 pulled
Lead Drive - 7 (sometimes 8)
Lead Master - 5
R2 Master - 6
Presence - 5 w/ Class A, 1 or 2 w/ Simul-Class
Reverb - 6

I use the EQ as a boost with the following settings:
50Hz - 60%
240Hz - 80%
750Hz - 60%
2200Hz - 80%
6600Hz - 50% (center)
