hi forumites,

just want to introduce to my band: Septimal Time
we are inspired by Rush, Dream Theater, Muse, Pink Floyd and so on...

for more information, visit: www.myspace.com/septimaltime

there you´ll find a few songs.
since two weeks now, we have a vocalist and the first tune with him is online now.

all songs are recorded live during the rehearsals, there are no overdubs - everything is "live".

i only use my Mesa Dual Rectifier and my Mesa Roadster - no other amps.

have fun!

One take, no overdubs! You guys are a tight band. It's good stuff. I think(since the singer is new) if you go for vocals that move the melody around more you'll have some A+ songs. Make him work! His range is good. And write music to accomodate that. Old Dream Theater is the feel. Some of the best melodies over progressive music. Never get bored is the thought. The band is aready there. Sorry for the critique.

thanx for your feedback! critique is allways important for a new band to get better.

hi forumites,

our newest song is online now. check out www.myspace.com/septimaltime
we call it "as we prog" - there are no vocals right now, but it´s only a matter of time.

the tune was recorded live during the last rehearsalsession.

feedbacks are welcome!
have fun

Ok, I think you need a new singer because from what I've heard he isn't going to do that new song justice. That is an awesome song! Do you guys collaborate on those songs? I bet someone in the band might be able to write some melodies and lyrics and teach it to your singer. Because the musician usually understands the songs moods and emotion. You need someone to sing with strong melody, demonic at times, much like the Dream Theater dude. Otherwise there is a subtraction factor of the non instrumental songs. The instrumental songs are strong. Well written and interesting. When I hear the singer I lose interest. You have to kinda know what I mean. I'm sorry for being so opinionated. I just like the stuff your playing and it needs a great singer. Your guy is marginal. I sat my singer down a couple of years ago and had him listen to all my Dream Theater CD's to help influence him. On top of that, I usually write the melody and lyrics cause he ain't a musician. My stuff does't sound like DT, but he needed a lesson in progressive rock melody and they're the best at that. Anyways something to consider. Great stuff, keep up the good work boys.
