Quick question...picked up a Joe Satriani Satchurator distortion pedal for free as part of my work's incentive program (long story...). Anyhow, I don't really need it but, it was free and I have room on my pedal board so what the hey... I'm running a Dual Rec and the effects going into the front of the amp are in the following order:

Guitar > Vox Wah > Tuner > Tube Screamer > MXR Phase > ISP Decimator > Dual Rec

What's the best place to put the Satchurator? I'm guessing between the Tuner and Tube screamer??? Thanks!

That's going to be overkill IMO, and is going to start to give you a lot of white noise if you start stacking OD's in front of a Recto. Choose either the TS or the Satch and see which one you like better. Also, it's a minor thing, but you might want to switch the order of your tuner and wah.

That's a good point. I guess I never intended to run the Satch with the tube screamer. So, I suppose the order doesn't really matter on that one. I've never actually tried one of these...like I said it was free and it's in Satriani's rig. If it's good enough for him, it's worth a look. I have to admit though that after looking at clips of these on youtube I'm excited about the possibility of getting a less intense distortion out of my rig. As for as the tuner/wah order...yes, the tuner should go first. However, they way I have my pedal board setup it just works better for the wah to be a the end of the board.

Got the Satch today. Put it after the tubescreamer...the verdict?? Meh...not a bad pedal, probably the best stomp box distortion I've ever tried. But, that's not saying too much cause all the stomp distortions I've tried I hated. It worked surpisingly well with the tube screamer. However, it seems to have it's own type of TS with the more function. The high gain settings were ok, but the DR's blew them out of the water. I guess the thing I liked the best about it was turning the pedal's gain to zero. You get a really good bluesy, slow rock sound of it. Far superior to "pushed" on channel one. For that reason alone I think I'll leave it in my pedal board. Will use it...wouldn't have bought it. :)
