Hey guys,

Looking for some guidance here. I currently have a T-verb, but miss the 50 watt sound. I yanked the the tubes and currently running hte T-verb at half gas, but sort of miss my rect-o-verb =(.

I was looking at the Roadster, but did not have time to play it. Can anyone tell me the good bad and ugly about this amp? Can it get REcto heavy and does it feel good?

I did a search on several forums but looking to you guys for expert advice. If I can't get it here, I can't get it anywhere!

In all seriousness, if anyone has owned a T-verb, rect-overb, and Roadster I am interested in hearing from yah!

Anyone else that has played these, give me a shout as well.

Thanks.

The roadster will sound more like your rectoverb. I had a version 2 of the rectoverb head and it was voiced more towards the regular recto's. The roadster is also voiced this way.

The tremoverb has alot more upper mid's so it doesnt sound as dark as the ROV or Roadster.

What Siggy said. I used to own a Tremoverb, and now own a Roadster, and Tremoverb has a very prominent midrange character. Meanwhile, the Roadster's two high gain channels are indistinguishable from the three channel Rectos.

Dave, did you sell that Tremoverb? It was a pretty good sounding one from what I remember.

Yeah, I sold it to pay for the Road King. I wish I had the money to keep it, because they really are unique sounding amps. Best cleans in the Recto line ever.

Hi Fixxer,

I previously owned a Rect-O-Verb (II), which I loved, but then later sold for some stupid reason, and when I began thinking about one again, I ended up trying every Mesa under the sun. I tried everything, and I came to the conclusion that if you want the Rectifier sound, the smartest way to go is the Roadster or the Road King. All the knobs and options of the RK scared me though so I went with the Roadster, which sounded like my ROV but with warmer, fuller cleans, and a step up on the Channel 4 distortion. I loves it.

Man with no name,

thanks for the feedback. I like the TOV, and miss my ROV. I am thinking I need to save my pennies for a Roadster! The clean channel is money, and channels 3 / 4 sounds like it will compliment my TOV well.

Thanks!
