Hi all!

My Roadster is pretty new and competely stock, so I wanted to get a complete JJ set from Eurotubes, but they don't have anything for this particular amp. Seeing as the Roadster is bascially a Dual Rectifier, can I just use the DR set from Eurotubes without any modifications?

Yes, but you'll need six pre-amp tubes.

E-mail Bob at EuroTubes and let him know what you are looking for, he'll set you straight for sure.

Also, If you ever want to try other brands besides just JJ's, visit http://www.DougsTubes.com. Doug is another guy who really knows his stuff, and he deals with many different brands which IMO offer more options.

I'm running SED =C= 6L6GC's, which IMO sound even better than the JJ 6L6GC's, but like I said, In My Opinion.

Cool! Thanks a lot! I have heard of Doug, but didn't quite remember him, so thanks for mentioning! I'm thinking of changing out everything, even the rectifier tubes, and also go EL34 or some other alternative.

Thanks again!

EL34's, especially those with a greater bass response like the GT EL34 LS's, really tighten up DR's. If you've never tried them I say give it a whirl. Some guys never go back to a 6l6 after trying them. Besides you can always use back ups.

Are those JJ E34L's?

(Here come those GAS pains)

Groove Tube EL34 LS Q (matched quartet) I'm running it in conjunction with a GT Gold Series pre-amp. Veerry Niice! As Borat would say.

From the Website
"New exclusive GT design with special "heat wings" attached to plate for more power, longer life, and better tone. Big bottom, very dynamic, most powerful in it's class."

For all you technical folks...

I went with a set of 7's because that was all they had and the quartet was only $85.

+1. I haven't had my Roadster long enough to swap tubes multiple times, but I love what the Mesa/Semiens EL34s did for my tone. Much tighter, more responsive (IMO) more "crunch" as opposed to what I'd call "grind," bass sounds more controlled, better attack, and the highs sound more aggressive. Also it cuts better and breaks up in a more aurally pleasant way (again IMO).
