Ok, maybe someone will know since i don't.
Was playing an outdoor gig last night and amp was working great, but they were powering us by a 5000w generator which be blew the main on a couple times, then it ran out of gas and they switched us to a 6500w generator. About 2 songs in the amp went dead. Checked the fuse and it was black! Replaced it and immediately blew the new fuse. First thing i thougt was maybe the plugs were sending too much voltage so i used my backup for the rest of the night. Tried the amp at home and still blew the fuse right away, but not burn black. Checked the 6l6's and they look fine. One of the 5u4gb's has a slight tinging sound when i shake it lightly (think of the sound of shaking a burnt out lightbulb, the little metal thingy on glass). I switched all the channels to diode before powering up just in case but still blew the fuse. Would a blown 5u4 cause this? Any thoughts?
