Yeah it went pretty good even though we were a bit loud, no thanks to the sound guy :lol:
When are you gigging next?

Ciao ...
This Sat night. Private gig for the Sunbury FC.
Too loud ? Our last one we had to turn right down, makes it hard to hear yourself. We didn't mike the amps. no fold back for me. We turned up near the end...they were all pissed :lol:
I take it you play heavy stuff, needs vol.

Yep, in a metal band. The Roadsters really love it when you get to open them up. We're on this Saturday too in Collingwood. Imagine what it would have been like if the Magpies were still in and actually won the grand finale, we'd need a cage like in the Blues Brothers :lol:

hahaha, protect the, protect the amp, :lol:

PS I remember years ago, the lead singer of Madder Lake came out with a baseball bat and told the crowd if anyone came near the gear he would use it on them :shock: ...it worked :D

...What do you mean , "because it always happen when I replace the amp"

I meant that it happened to me when I moved the amp for example from rehearsel room to my appartment and back. So I had al those theories about temperature differences and what more. Should all be bullshit. Mesa amps should be just reliable and not some kind 60's Russian technology.

I own a ROV by the way. The real reason why this happens I don't know and a real solution I have neither. Most of the times, if it happens, I flip the amp on standby again, wait a little and play again. Sometimes this helps. Át the moment I don't do shows anymore, but I can believe it really sucks if this happens on stage.
The first I thing I would look for is loosy fittings however, as said before. Use some contact spray and mount/unmount the tubes a few times.

The Roadster's tube functions are the same as the RK.

V1A=First Gain Stage ALL Channels (Input Stage)
V1B=Second Gain Stage ALL Channels (Input Stage)

V2A=Third Gain Stage Ch's 1 & 2
V2B=Third Gain Stage Ch's 3 & 4

V3A=Fourth Gain Stage Ch's 3 & 4
V3B=Tone Stack Driver

V4A=Reverb Return
V4B=Reverb Driver

V5A=FX Loop Send
V5B=FX Return

V6A&B=Phase Inverter

Hope that Helps!

Yep, done that, see how I go.
Thanks.
I agree this crap shouldn't happen, new amp but we have to remember, it's old technology.

The pre-amp tubes run from left to right when looking in from the back of the head. The 12AX7 closest to the input jack is V1.

Cool, so A&B are the same valve.
If I was having trouble with CH3 it could be the first 3 valves.
Anyway the problem hasn't come up again but the info you have given will be valuable for the future.
Will buy some spare valves.

Yes, a 12AX7 (ECC83) is two tubes in one bottle, sharing the same heater.

With Mesa's cascading gain structure it is important to use a good quiet tube in V1, as that tube gets amplified over and over (2nd gain stage, 3rd gain stage etc.)
