for the couple of weeks I've had my roadster I've been wrestling with channels 3 and 4 and was at a bit of a loss with what to do. They just sounded muddy and I was struggling to get clarity out of them.

I have found my saving grace though - an orange 2x12. As soon as I plugged it in I was amazed. My distortion now cuts through perfectly with crisp, tight distortion.

Now I can start to fully enjoy my head :)

i have a roadster amp head and originally bought a 2x12 rectifier cab... s'ok

but just got a 2x12 LONESTAR cab... and for me it sounds waaaaay better... i couldn't even turn the bass up at all on the 3 & 4 with the recto cab.

the cab really really REALLY makes a difference.

All DR's will sound muddy with too much bass. Cut the bass out and you can run a tight sound with just about any cab.

EQ like Limp Bizkit and good luck with the mud....

I could never stand the tone of my DR with the bass cut! Turned into a thin sheet of glass, lost all depth!

I guess what I don't get is this: Why get a Rectifier, known for it's massive low-end abilities, and cut the bass out for a tighter sound? Get an amp with those natural characteristics, without altering the EQ!

And Wes Borland's tone was massive!
