Hi I was reading that one of the most tonal improvement that could be done on an amp is by replacing the output transformer by a better one...

In consequence a few questions are chasing my mind:

-will the tone really be improved by replacing the stock output transformer of the Road King II, or is this already a high grade one?

-If yes, which one should I consider to purchase, any ideas or experience?

I'm behind more definition in lower (punch) end especially for the brit mode in Channel 2

Any suggestions or advise

Thanx

Pino

Check out this guy. I have heard one of his modded single recto amps and they sound like a recto with rabies. Absolutely brutal!

Personally find that the OT on Mesas are pretty darn good already...

With the Brit mode, try dialing in less bass maybe. On the other hand, the bass is fairly tucked already, you shouldn't have problems with a loose low end...
