Right-angle plug/adapter for for MKV input

When my amp is not being used, I like to cover it up with the original Mesa head cover, doing minimal cable unplugging if possible. But the regular straight cable sticks out too much, so I thought I'd just get a right-angle adapter. I bought this simple Livewire 1/4 inch adapter (http://www.amazon.com/Live-Wire-Right-Angle-Adapter/dp/B001G7DM88), but the problem is it won't get seated all the way into the input, because of not having enough clearance.

I've seen people do this before (first one that comes to mind is JP)...

... so now I'm wondering whether there are cables/adapters with better/more clearance on the plug end, or whether they're using another 1/4 adapter (straight 1/4 female to male) in between the amp and the cable n order to clear the area around knobs and such...

Any thoughts?

Of course it's not hard... :roll: But like many other things that us gearheads get that we *don't need* it makes life just a little bit easier, cleaner, neater, subtler, etc. 8)

Yup, you just need to find the right plug. That Petrucci photo is a soldered plug, not an adapter. Find a right-angle plug that will work with a Tele, we've had that problem for years.

I am using it and I can slip the cover without taking out the plug all the time. And I got an extra plug for the guitar end as well - it has a magnetic switch that prevents poping and hum when taken out from guitar with amp in full volume.

I use a Monster Cable with a 45 degree end.....It just makes it..

Thanks for the replies... I didn't know there was a 45 degree angle plug... I'll also look at some tele-compatible ones...

But all in all... this is definitely one of those minor "projects"... I'll sit on it a little bit before I decide whether to pursue it further. I do have a rack-style processor sitting on top of the amp in a 4CM configuration, so I can at least use the right-angle adapter that I already got for that.

It's been a while since I messed with this... But few days ago I was once again overcome with a strong desire to find an appropriate right-angle plug again! So I came across this at Radio Shack, which works great with MKV.

I use a George L (L) Cable run the access to the rear of the amp and have a female to female 1/4 connection. The head sits in a head case all the time.
