My name is Rick, and I live on the Gulf Coast of Texas. I began playing guitar in 1976, a banner year for music. I dreamed of a Boogie combo amp, but finances for my 16 year old self didn’t support that. I did finally get to order my first Boogie, a Mk III SimulClass hardwood 1x12, two decades later. Many stages, many Boogies, and many years later, I had three (Road King II 2x12, Nomad 55 4x10, and a Cali Tweed 4:40 head w/ two 1x12 100w Jensen cabs) when a online meeting with a gentlemen a few years my senior brought a great opportunity my way…
This very cool guy was looking to find a home for an amp he’d owned since new. It turned out this amp was a 1976 blonde 1x12 Super 60 Reverb in excellent condition… my new-to-guitar dream amp from nearly 50 years ago! Serial A-511 from the Lagunitas “Home of Tone” workshop back in the Randall and Rayven days. I was blown away. We made arrangements, and here I am as it’s 2nd owner.
So, I’ll be sending the chassis in to M/B in Petaluma for a going over and health check. It’s completely functional now, and blazes through the Altec 417-8H speaker, but I’m looking to ensure it’s long-term gig-ability.
It’s good to be back on the forum. Thanks for having me!
