Replacement headshell for a Mark V?

Long story short: Mark V headshell is cracked along the top side seams, shipping mishap.

I called Mesa, they want $375+shipping for just the stock black headshell. I'm on the east coast so I'm guessing its going to push it up to the $400 mark. For just a basic stock headshell, I'm sorry, but that's kind of ridiculous.

Does anyone know of a less costly alternative? I guess I shouldn't skimp on such a pricey amp, but that's where I am with things right now.
 
Wow...I was gonna convert my combo in a month or two but I didn't realize how much they were now. At some point, I thought they were only around $250. Making my own is starting to look good. I'd make it a little taller too just for easy access and I'd be going for something like this:

I'd see if you can find a shop that recovers cabs. I think I saw the pics of your head and I'd bet it can be repaired and recovered. But if it were me I'd just buy replacement for a head of that value.
