Recto tone/tube help

Okay guys kinda first post here, I been reading for awhile and need some help. I use a LTD EC-1000 EMG 60/81 combo, My head is a single rec. with all stock mesa tubes and mesa 6l6's Ive tried the groove 6l6gc's but like the mesa ones better i think. peavey XXX cab loaded with eminence private jacks. Right now the amp has a very in your face sound. I am wanting something more like mark tremonti's tone on higher or what if. I like that really thick sound. I am completely lost on what tubes would be money best spent for this type of sound. also any EQ ideas for this would help. My current settings are: (oclock)

Presence- off
bass- 1:30-2
mid- 10:30-11
treble- 1-1:30
Gain- 2-2:30
master-11
output-noonish
