I di'd a little test with comparing two setups:

-the red/modern channel of a Triple Rectifier.

-Connecting the outputs (not the recording outputs) of a Recto Recodring Preamp into the FX return of the Triple Rectifier.

The red/modern channel of the Recto Recording Preamp into the Triple Rectifier FX return sounds -alot- moore scooped then running only the Triple Rectifier...how come, is it suposed to be that way?

Were you following advise from the manual about this procedure? Something about "nuetralizing" the power section by utilizing the Vintage mode! Tone controls? So on and so on!

Ya, to me it'd be like the difference of connecting a CD/mp3 player up to your amps power section, as compared to that of a "traditional" power amp! One is intended to reproduce a full frequency spectrum, and one is intended to produce a specific range intended for that of a guitar! Un-just test! :?

Ok, tried something different...

Recto Recording Preamp + Recto 2:100 rack poweramp vs. Triple Rectifier.

Exact same settings on both setups with the red/modern channel sounded very different, still the rack setup sounds -alot- moore scooped......why?

They probably tweeked the tone stack. It's not like this is a new thing, they've been messing with the values ever since the first prototype.

What would be interesting is to A/B that pre/power setup with a Roadster, since it's tone stack would've been designed after the Recto Pre's it may show an evolution in tone.
