Hi folks,
I'm finding that the clean (green) channel on my recto preamp breaks up rather sooner than I might expect (about 09:00 on the gain control with a similar setting on that channel's 'Master'. I have the 3db input reduction engaged and the 'bright' switch off. I do find that the problem clears up a wee bit if I switch the mini toggle through all of the different modes (Clean, Fat and Brit) before settling on the one I want to use. It's a pain to have to do this every time I want to play though.
Aside from spraying all moving parts full of switch cleaner I was considering swapping the input tube to see if that helps (maybe even for a 12AT7 as it's lower gain). I was thus wondering what the tube layout is on the back of the recto preamp? If someone could summarise the top and bottom rows L-R then that'd be great, the only info I can find on which-tube-does-what is in the manual for the rectifier amp heads.
Cheers very much in advance!
