Thanks Elpelotero for the link. Great looking head. Maybe you can shed some light on this, excuse my ignorance but was the chrome chassis a special run only and were the standard models black chassis only. I actually had a Dual Cal + from the late 80's that I bought new, now wished I still had it, but anyways, got out of the Mesa stuff for a while, but recently got back into them when I got my used 3ch DR which was made in 2001. I believe you mentioned your 2 ch. had revision C or D (not sure which), any advice/suggestions are more than welcomed. I've already scoured EBAY, any other venues to look at to find one?

the chrome chassis thing is currently a custom order. back in the day, i believe it was too. however, i wouldn't be surprised if mesa pumped a few out in chrome every now and then from time to time. not all the first rectos are chrome. they had the same options as today.

ebay, craigslist (even other cities, cali is best), harmony central, boogie board, prs forums, johnpetrucci forums, pawn shops, the list goes on......

Thanks for the info. Are there any specific years to look for that seem to have "THE TONE"? From your earlier post, I'm guessing somewhere in the '92-'94 era, correct? Also, unfamiliar with a couple of those sites, can you be a little more specific? Craigslist and cali. Sorry, don't mean to pester too much, I have never heard of those two.

If you want a fabled pre500 then you want a '92, if not then anything later from '93 on will be about the same.

I believe most if not all chrome chassis came with a blue light.
