Ok, I've been experimenting a bit today.

Tried running the Recording Out into Reaper/Revalver, and using the cab sims. The Recording Out signal seemed sort of weak. Im at home and cant crank the amp, so Output is only on 1 with all channel masters on about 2.

Then tried the Slave Send or whatever...and did the same. This gave me a much more decent signal level...but please inform me if I really should NOT be doing this, as I'm pretty sure I heard it is safe to do.

My question is, what is the difference between the signals in Recording Out compared to Slave?

Im getting decent results, but comparing the cab sim tracks with the REAL Mesa to the ones with the "Hello Kitty" in Revavler, they seem very, very close in comparison to my ears. Kinda freaky.

From what I've read in the manual, the record out already has amp and cab simulation in it. The slave out is just the raw preamp.

Will it damage the amp by running a tuner out of the Slave jack? I use the Recording Out on the Mark IV for my tuner and want to do the same with my Mark III... only no Recording Out, just the Slave.

Thanks!
