As in, has anybody tried this with any level of success? Trying to find a way to record this amp in a noisy environment (to wit, my house).

Thanks in advance for any and all thoughts!

The LSC manual says not to do this... signal too strong & sound too thin.

maybe if you had a speaker emulator that could take the level, you'd be good to go...

Sequis Motherload - speaker emulator and dummy load - is exactly the thing for the job. The problem with a lot of speaker emulators is recording high gain sounds as well as clean, and the controls on the Motherload make both easy to do. This article covers it pretty well.

Its not cheap though, and you do need to be prepared to do the tweaking to get an exact sound like the LSS. Took me about 3 weeks of fiddling to get the overdrive to exactly the same tone. The clean I got as soon as I got the machine.

Also works for any other silent recording, like bass amps.

Timmerel, you rule. Thanks for the lead and I will research it. :)

I've always wanted to rule.

Do they send the Crown and Sceptre in the post, and do I need to start wearing purple?

You rule over a bunch of net savvy guitar geeks - a dubious honor at best :) <3
