It's the export transformer thing. We, as Americans do not have the desire for it near as much as those that are overseas. The only problem is that the seller refuses to ship it overseas. It would sell for that BIN or maybe more if he was willing to ship "across the pond". I feel that I understand what you guys are saying, though. When I see the prices that the late '50s Sunburst Les Pauls are selling for, I say to myself "Could they really be that much better than my '71? " I will probably never know the answer, sadly. :lol:

+1. But George, what are you shocked about?

A year ago that would have been ballpark for a mint condition loaded export Simul head. Granted, prices seem to have softened, but there's no telling what the trend will be.

FWIW, Mike B told me he believes the export tranny is the best fit for a C+.

What really grinds my gears is that this community should support fellow sellers, not
post disparaging remarks in an attempt to devalue someone's amp. I would be the first to call BS
if something was fishy or if it were truly overpriced, but in this case I see nothing wrong.
So, I may not have the right to ask, but lets keep the Hatorade and penis envy to ourselves.

Are you saying a IIC export or a C+ export, because those proces for a IIC would justify the $3,200 pricetag for an original C+ export.

The combo that sold for $1850 was listed as a IIC in the auction. It is all about supply, demand, and properly marketed amps. There are few original C+ amp to begin with, then start filtering them by their options. When you get to the four letter codes (i.e. DRGX, HRGX, KDRG) the supply gets very slim. As I stated before, the demand for these 25 year old amps is still very strong, despite the crappy economy.
