i just had my tech re-tube my head. i bought 2 duets. All 4 tubes had the same number/color. does it matter what order they were put in. i realize that if the colors are different you would go GREEN-BLUE-BLUE-GREEN.

the tech mixed my tubes up before putting them in and since they all have the same color code and numbering didn't think it would matter.

will this be a problem? so far for the short times i've used the amp it sounds fine, but i've got the first gig with the new head tomorrow and wanna make sure i'll have no problems.

it's been so many years since i've owned a mesa. i forgot all of the little nuances to owning one.

8-16ohm speaker outs
crazy parallel loop
self-biasing
channel cloning
vintage or modern
diode or tube

not complaining. just forgot about the learning curve. i love all of the options. wish i had retained some of this info from the past. i guess the miller lite and jager took it all away.

i have no idea how people run the rk. i would lose my mind!!! haha

Call mesa at 707 778 6565 . I seem to remember that the two outside ones match up . Could be wrong . I would call them and get the definitive answer

as far as i remember, the two outside tubes should match, and the two inside tubes should match. but you should be fine. i suggest calling mesa as well.

just talked to mesa and as long as they are the same color they can go in any order. if they are 2 different colors the 2 outsides need to match and the 2 middles need to match.

Sorry this may seem like a dumb question to ask, but how do you check the color of your tubes. im changing my pre amp tubes for the first time so im kinda new at this.

If they are Mesa tubes then the color will be spelled out on the tube collar.

The color codes are for the Power Tubes only. The Preamp Tubes do not need to be matched sets, just plug and play !!
