from a tube guy. Ive only ever owned tube heads, and i know you arent supposed to turn the amp on without it plugged into a cabinet. is this also true for solid state? quickness appreciated. we're starting to record and i dont know if i can use the line out n the bass head and not have it plugged in to a cab. i know some of you might be shaking you head and saying dumbass, but its better i ask before blowing up the bass head right?

to my knowledge i dont think that it is as bad as as not conecting a tube amp but i would feel better connecting it to a load.

Tube AND solid state amps need a load, otherwise they are history..
