Hi everyone...
Does anyone know of any multi-effects processors (either pedal board or rack-mountable) that have a function which lets you switch channels (and other functions) on your amp?

If so, please name some units and briefly tell how to set up the channel switching

Thanks!

(I've heard that the Boss GT Pro can do this... and the TC Electronics G-Major... not sure though :-/)

Yes, both of those units can switch channels, but in a limited capacity. First of all, you would need to have an amp that has external switching capabilities like the triple rec or road king. The G-Major only has the ability to switch 2 functions that use a tip to sleeve ground short to trigger the relay, and I believe that the GT Pro is the same. To switch all of the functions on something like a roadster or roadking, you would have to look into stand alone switching units like the GCX.

Also, I've read that the G-Major cannot switch channels on any of the rectifier amps because of the common ground on both of its relay switches. I'll leave that up to someone else to confirm though.

If I got a G-Force and a Ground Control (both the rack GCX thing and the foot thing) could i switch channels then? Does the Mark Series have that capability?

Also, can an amp be -modded- to be able to do external channel switching?

As long as you have tip to ground switching capability you can. Midi Octopus is a great way to switch channels in a Mark IV.

i just ordered the CFX4 from Axess Electronics with the custom cable for my amp. it should be here in a couple of weeks. this will allow me to program channel switching with my xpression using my midi board.
