Guten Morgen.

Well, i wonder if anyone could help me finding out the age of my rectifier.
unfortunately there is no serial number. at the place where it should be.

It is a 2 channel version with the small mesa logo, hardwired powerchord and a series effects loop.
its build for euro style voltage.

thanks
rogger

btw please excuse my not so proper english, i´m from germany

haha,

no, it´s not for sale.
i do like it´s sound.
only thing that pisses me off, is the weak clean performance.
but i have a jc-120 for that.

but what would you pay for it?

If you pull the amp out of the shell, somewhere inside
I'm sure there will me a hand writin date .
I have a Ractifier and mine was signed on the side wall.

it sounds like you a 1992 or 1993 rectifier. if you pull out the chassis, which is very easy to do, there will also be a circuit board revision number next to the 2 or 4? blue caps on the bottom. It should something like RF1C or RF 1F.

thanks for your help guys.
i will have a look at the chasis next time i´m going to play.
is there any difference between the RF-1C, RF-1D and the RF-1F?
Is one better than the others?

Well I would pay around 1500€ according the state ;-)

OK, i checked it.
the board has a RF-1B on it.
and there is a hand written date, that says 1992.

Is RF-1B one of the earlier (maybe pre 500) amps?

i am not 100% positive right now, but i think you MAY have squeezed out one of the last 500 versions. The F version throws me off because I don't think any 500's were F's, BUT the 1992 date makes it a huge possibility. Post a picture or two, and if you can, of the chassis.

If it's an RF-1B, I gotta think it was one of the first 100 or 150. I've got #499 and it's an RF-1D, made in August of '92. I think most pre-500's sound like they were the RF-1C board. This one should be a real early production version.

Is it me or does anyone here remember R0005 being an RF-1C?

I doubt Mesa made 4 RF-1B's. IMO, the A or B does not exist.
A picture would be the proof. Without a serial number and it being an export, I just dont see why Mesa would prototype an amp in Europe.
In some cases however, Mesa has leaked prototypes to famous or influential musicians.

O man I totally misread the post!!!!!!!!!! Wow I feel like such an idiot. I don't know why I read it as RF-1F instead of RF-1B.

I'm sorry about that. If you have a B version, I think it would be fair to see you have the rarest of them all. But, as Boogiebabies pointed out, it would have to have a serial number below 00005.

Cool.

I´ll take some pics next time and post them here.

The funny thing is, that when i bought this baby, i was kind of pissed off, because i couldn´t afford to buy a new amp.
but as i find out more about rectifier history i like it more every day.
