I have mesa tubes in my quad that are working ok but some are due for replacement pretty soon.

I am considering replacing all of them with GT 'mullard copies'. However, it occurs to me that using more specific choices for the different tube placements (V1, V2 etc..) will let me pinpoint the sound I am after and make them more accurately suited to each channel.

So what are people using? Any suggestions?

check out eurotubes. i got jj ecc83's for there. i got 5 high gain for v11, v12, v13, v21 and v23 and 3 standards for v14, v22 and v24. keeps the cleans nice and distortion gets alittle more gain and great dynamics

ive also heard good things about JJ ecc83s. I'm going to replace all tubes in my quad with them soon. I may go to the gold pin version for the critical tubes..
I have heard the JJ ECC803S long plate is more prone to going microphonic in high-gain situations?

am interested to see what others have used in there quads.

-- I just checked my quad and its still got the original mesa tubes in it from 1988 (date on the reverb unit) ! Do you guys think new tube will make a difference?
