I just got my Quad! And I am totally baffled. I am used to my Simul-Satellite (which only has 4 knobs!)

Whats the best way to hook it up to my Simul-Satellite? FX loop? Main input? Slave jack for Mark IV input? Can I slave the EQ of the Satellite to the Quad? Should I be using the recording outs? Help!

1/4 y cord your main outputs from your quad to your sat inst input ....

you have stepped up my son ...now you need to move foward..buy a power amp.... its does matter what as long as its stereo....two speakers for right and left bammmm

or to really be cool by another sat ... i know where one is for 400.00 pm me

I have also an Ampeg B2 that i use for the other channel. I'll probably hook it up tommorow to mes with. I have to retune my whole rig.... I also have a box of NOS tubes. I have a few RCA 12AX7's, a bunch of various 12AT7s, a few 12U7's and 5814 and a 5751. I'm gonna pop out the stock mesa tubes and throw these in there. :p

So far I hooked it up with with the main out going to the FX return on the Satellite and that sounded real good. I got alot of noise when i plugged it into the Input jack... maybe i run the fx out of the preamp into the guitar inpu of the satellite? idk.

For some reason, with the sample settings for the Quad, R2 and L2 sound almost identical... even L1 can sound very much like L2.... i dont get it...

if they are the telefucken in there now i wouldn't do that...those are the best...

I will post pics soon. I dont think they are telefunken. they have a very strange interior construction, like no other 12AX7 ive seen. Theres a tesla ecc83 in there, but that looks to be new production. the rest are labeled mesa 12ax7/ecc83/7051 in white labels, theres one thats red labeled, I doubt they are anything special.

i have a quad and a simul sat. go from the outputs of the quad to the fx return of the simulsat. the front master volume, tone and graphic are active.

Thanks for the demo! You clearly show just how many usable tones a Quad has.... truly the mother of all preamps!!
