QUAD preamp outputs

Anyone ever tried the following?

1/ FX send from Quad running out as a slave to a stereo effect and then straight into a stereo power amp for the wet signal.

2/ Main outs from Quad to stereo power amp for the dry signal.

I suppose the Quad's got a series loop, so all the signal flows through the fx send. If you send that signal to a poweramp through an fx processor, no signal will be returned to the fx return inputs! So, no signal in, no signal out (out from the main outs I mean). Someone please corrects me if I'm wrong!

I stay away from the FX loop. Why dont you use one main out for wet and the other for wet? or you could use the recording outs for the other FX unit...
