Hi everybody,
I realize maybe this post is better for the tube section, but i thought more people read the rack pieces posts....
Anyway, i have been researching which tubes to re-tube with, and there are a ridiculous amount of options. I know I need to hear the tubes to know if I'll like them with my gear, but that's not possible until I actually have them. I would like to keep the quad re-tube to about $100... so i was wondering Tung Sol, TS Reissue? (same thing?) OR... JJ high gain (5) and 3 regular ecc83's from eurotubes. I like a focused, tight crunchy rhythm, high gain, but i don't want to ruin the cleans.
Also, the MK IIC section sounds great, but the MK III sounds anemic compared to the MK IIC. plus the fx loop sounds really faded and terrible when i run my digitech gsp2101 in the loop. so i'm guessing that tube is gone.
Any ideas for the output tubes? mesa? JJ, or tung sol?
I've read so much, that i think I'm dizzy now
Thanks again, and please go easy on me, lol... I have severely limited use of my right arm/hand, and my left hand isn't great yet either... many more months to recover from surgery... thus all the time to look online, and make noise with my rig!
thanks again,
scott
