I recently purchased a Roadster head. I run all 4 channels at 50 watts? Would it make sense to pull 2 of the power tubes out of there, and a rectifier tube.....if so which ones? My thinking is that when i burn through the 6l6's that are in there, I can pop in the 2 6l6's I pulled out......
They might go over this in the manual, but the little prick at guitar center failed to include it. (Downloaded the PDF from the Mesa site, yet to print it out though)

and read the manual.

it is well written and is invaluable in tweaking your sound.

(personally, I would take your reciept back to GC and have them give you your copy).

I asked Mesa about doing this in my Lonestar Classic, and they said it is possible, but not recommended (I forgot the technical reason) BUT since the inner tubes are on standby, you can rotate them with the outside pair every couple of months or so to get longer life out of all of them. Hope this helps.

Yeah, go back and get your copy. I bought my amp from a store in another state, and they didn't include the amp cover, the warranty, and the manual. I called them back up, and they shipped it out the next day. It's just a matter of asking what you paid for, they HAVE to give you it. Otherwise you can make a big fuss and get some other stuff.

As others have said don't do it. In an effort to save $$$ on tubes you may do more expensive damage.
