Hi all,

My Mark VII is being a bit of a problem child and not wanting to get into his combo shell. It looks like the Tolex on the inside side wall (wrapped from the from to the inside) keeps bunching up. I’ve cut the small amount of loose Tolex but the. It just happens again when I slide the amp in.

Of only the edges of the amp faceplate had a small radius or bevel that would help. The edges of the face plates are quite sharp and unforgiving. But I’m not going Dremel on the faceplate. LOL So, I need to get the Tolex to stay put somehow, or make it easier to slide over.

Any tips or tricks for how to get this thing back together?

Thanks for the advice. I ended up going a slightly different route. On the inside of the shell I trimmed both sides of any slightly loose Tolex using an exacto knife. Then put on a very thin bit of superglue where anything was loose and pressed down smooth with a small piece of wax paper. Then put a single strip of electrical tape across the entire width going from wood to Tolex (basically acting as a piece of cardboard would, to guide the amp over the Tolex). The amp slid in right to the top!
