soooo... some french guy in New Hampshire got it and hes taking it back i guess....

i hope this isn't a scam of any kind... this is what he wrote to me

"dear reggiesfriend, I'm a Frenchman in Hampton NH, for vacation, leaving on August 28. I hope everything will be clear fast enough for me to put the head along in my luggage. Thank you to let me know about shipping to Hampton NH. My paypal is ready. Kind regards, Christian"

i mean is there any paypal scams i should look out for?

like if he sends the money and it clears am i good?

if something seems fishy, or goes wrong i'm selling it on the board

sincerely
reggiesfriend

He's got perfect feedback. If it was going to be a scam it would more likely be a cashiers check. The only problem I might see is that Paypal requires you to ship to a verified address for their buyers protection plan. His is probably in France.

Hmmm...

This is a tough one.

PayPal requires that you ship to a confirmed address to take advantage of their sellers protection. Here are a couple of links to PayPay security:

Link #1
Link #2

You can ship to a non-confirmed address but now you are at your own risk and not subject to any protection services that PayPal offers.

Technically, this person could pay you through PayPal, receive the Dual then claim he never received Dual and file a claim with PayPal for a refund. He gets a free amp and you are screwed.

Your auction does state that you ship Worldwide.

This is what I would do...

I would tell the seller that per PayPal rules and given the amount of the sale (i.e. $2200US), you will only ship to a confirmed address. Since the address on his PayPal/CreditCard account is in France and not in NH, you will wait for him to get back to France and then mail the Dual to him at that time.

Remind him that he will be responsible for all shipping charges and any taxes/tariffs due at customs for the amp. Also tell him that you will not lie on the customs form meaning that you will put the entire value of the amp on the form. Usually when people from overseas buy things from the US, they will ask you to claim a lesser amount so the taxes/tariffs will be lower. This is a bad idea because should the amp get damaged/stolen, you can only claim what is on the form.

Good luck and hope this all works out for you.

PS: By the time I finished my reply, sundaypunch already replied regarding shipping to a confirmed address.

If his PayPal isn't verified, sell the DR to Surfguitar!

Yeah! I (tried to) bid $2,307! 8)

Man be VERY careful whatever you do.

It's an unrelated incident, but I just had someone at FedEx steal my '64 Blonde Vintage Jaguar during shipment. Long story short, it was recoved, but a MAJOR pain in my ass! Had it not been recovered they were going to offer me between $100.00-$500.00! I got lucky and don't take any more chances..

Let us know how it turns out - good luck, and congrats on the sale!!!

so craphead from italy with 0 feedback just bid on my dual rectifier i placed on ebay and overbid everyone. auction ends, wont pay.

now i am going to have to wait until next week to relist it so i can be credited for this shmucks nonsense.

be careful with bidders from other countries other than your own on ebay!@

i believe you can cancel bids like that and the person with the 2nd highest bid wins. i'm not absolutely sure, so check the ebay rules. but even if it's only a few dollars, you still had to pay to list that rec.

true. but the auction ended on friday!

what year/serial is it? and how much do you want? i might buy it

EDIT: i just saw your other post. i'm actually looking for a blackface from '92-'96. sorry :(

There is no reason to panic at this point. Tell him if you are using Paypal you will only ship to a verified address. If he doesn't have one in the USA tell him he needs to pay using US Postal Money orders or a bank wire transfer. He has perfect feedback and likely wants the amp. He will probably be happy to work with you.

Oh, if you ship it, make sure you insure it.

What is the difference with the pre500's? Also how does this apply to the Dual rectifier 2 ch rackmounts? I'm interested in a Dual Rectifier Rackmount, what should I look for with those?

ibanezgtr,

There is something called the search button.

It looks like:

Thanks for taking the time to not answer my question, and adding gay icons.... So I guess you don't know. Does anyone have any advice about the Dual Rectifier rackmounts?

I have fewer posts than you and I do know.

I did this by searching and reading.

Here is a "rather famous" link that discusses the Pre 500's.

http://forum.grailtone.com/viewtopic.php?t=11228

God forbid that you type "pre*500" in the search tool.

Hopefully you can take it from there.

PS: Gesh, some people.

I said thanks... Anyway that doesn't really help with advice on the Dual Rectifier rackmounts. Or does it? I would like to know, lets see if we can get someone else to post a reply.
