Power amp question

hi all

i have a marshall 8008. i am thinking to change it to mesa 20/20 .
this rig is only for small places gigs.
is it worth it? only for a sound reason.
(i have only 1U free)

I've not played through the Marshall, so I can't compare tonality, but I can tell you that the 20/20 is plenty loud (in 1 rack space) and should give you that 'British' sound due to the EL 84 tubes.

plus a mesa preamp was designed for a mesa power amp and vice versa

I have a 20/20 and love it.
It can get very loud if needed.
At the moment I run a 2101 into the 20/20 into 2 Marshall 1936 1x12 cabs for a nice stereo setup...
