I took delivery last February, almost six months after placing the order. Road King II, private reserve maple with a trans amber finish.

After going through a lot of amps over the past few years, I've "come home" to Mesa gear once again...

My main rig uses the Mark V and Roadster in parallel, with an Axess BS2 buffer, Damage Control Glass Nexus for FX, Rocktron Patchmate/Midimate pair for switching, and a couple of Randall 2x12 cabs. My "small" rig switches between the Lonestar Special and Stiletto Ace.

Gorgeous! Looks like a really nice piece of furniture.

Yeah, it's the EBMM Steve Morse signature model, and it's got the most convoluted switching scheme of any guitar I've ever owned... it's got a 3-way blade that switches between the bridge humbucker, neck humbucker, and bridge single coil; a 2-way toggle that adds the bridge humbucker to whatever's selected on the 3-way blade; and a 3-way toggle that adds the neck single coil to the active selection or solos the neck single coil. How Morse thought of this, I have no idea.

Well it's taken about 18 months to switch from a fully digital modelling rig to what I consider to be an excellent valve amp plus pedals rig. Here are some piccies, with the compulsory guitar porn ;-):

Gibson Les Paul 2002 Standard, with BareKnuckle Mule Pickups & Fender 50th Anniversary American Series Stratocaster

Fender '52 AVRI Telecaster & Fender '62 Deluxe Player Strat Stratocaster, with Bareknuckle Custom '62 Pickups

Mesa Boogie LoneStar Special, with Harma Cryo Valves throughout

IMG_1761.jpg

On the pedalboard I have:

* The GigRig Humdinger (mounted underneath the Pedaltrain)

into a Loop-Master True Bypass Looper, as follows:

* Loop 1 >> Keeley Crybaby
* Loop 2 >> Keeley Compressor
* Loop 3 >> Keeley Katana
* Loop 4 >> Keeley BD-2
* Loop 5 >> Paul Cochrane Tim
* Empress Superdelay (in the effects loop)

I use Evidence Audio Lyric HG cable to and from the pedalboard, also between the GigRig Humdinger and the input on the Loopmaster. The pedalboard is cabled with Lavacable's Mini ELC Solderless kit for the pedals in the loops. I also use a Pedalsnake for the effects loop, footswitch cable and to get power from a Diago Powerstation in my rack bag to the pedals out front. The rackbag also has a Furman Power Conditioner in it, which everything is powered from.

I think this rig is pretty sweet and sounds amazing. It's incredibly flexible and is all based around the quite frankly awesome LoneStar Special. One day I will add a LoneStar Classic as well, so that I can experience those gorgeous tones, but through 6L6's rather than EL84's for when I fancy a change. :D

Here's my current situation:

This is a crappy photoshop visualisation, haven't had the complete set together yet...

The "new" 2x10 has EV Speakers and is a lot heavier than my "old" 2x10 with Eden speakers.
The 1x15's are more or less identical.

Pics of the "new" 2x10 and 1x15 set (incl "gutz" pics) are on my site http://www.fcbass.com (see "Amps & Stuff")
Here's the nonphotoshopversion:

Man you got both roadster and mark V...how would you compare them? which one would you choose if you had to?
I have a roadster and consider getting mark V instead. Would that be upgrade whatever that means?
I have no chance to check it... :?

In what is inevitably the gross generalization of the day... the Mark V is smoother/punchier, the Roadster is grittier/saggier--in some ways it's hard to believe that both amps are produced by the same company.

Between the two, I prefer the Mark V, but that's probably because I grew up playing the Mark IV and Triaxis. I don't know if I'd say it's an "upgrade" from the Roadster... just better suited for my style.

He actually said that he also has been wanting to get a Mark V, but he's thinking it will be better to wait another year and grab a used one at a good price, rather than lay down $3000 for it.

And greetings from Poland Ofcourse :D

les paul>tuner>dunlop wah>amp

sg has gone somwe time ago.loved the sound..hated the neck....jacksons gone after a week..hated the neck..loved the sound.

now the matamp/orange 2x12cab has gone (think i will keep he head) and i bought a duel rectifier 3 ch head. Trying to get a 4x12 rectifier cab for it in the next 5 days off ebay before i go away. Now ive gone from using just one channel on the orange to 3 on the mesa...what a luxury...

my so called rig consists of;

the 97 les paul standard rewired 50s style and bareknuckle stormy monday in the bridge and oil and paper caps....nickel hardware fitted also.

and the epiphone les paul custom stock except for seymour duncan 59s in (maybe change them soon for emgs)

i dont even like having a tuner infront of the amp, the dunlop wah which i only use now and then saps tone even when its not in use.

i change volume and tones by using the pickups, old skool way to do it i suppose..kossoffs my idol

i suse the KISS method of guitar setups...Keep It Simple Stupid

works for me.
