Not single coils, but could easily be converted. These are actually very good guitars.

That's the great thing about Tele's. Just buy a used standard and set it up the way you want it. I only have Tele's right now and I can get just about any sound I want from them.

Devilrob1979:
What do you think of your Edwards, and where did you get it/what did you pay?

Peace

I always take that ashtray cover off.. it muffles the tone a bit and does indeed make muting impossible

The '72 re-issue comes close, but it looks like an SG-knock off rather than a tele to me! [...]
I'd like both pickups to be single coils, old-style pickup switch (simply standard, no Gibson pots!)

this is so fun... i really like tele... i got an old japan... and a '72 deluxe RI... i put some 500k gibson pots in it... and really love it... with my cal 50+ it's just what i want...

now i just have to "re-build" my old japan one (new pick-ups, new pots, new bridge etc...) i'm sure it will sound awesome...

good luck in your quest...

I have 4 Tele's. 1) '82 or so American w/ extra hot in the neck 2A mexican thinline w/ 2 dimarzio hums. 3&4) 2 G&L ASAT classics ( one w/ a hotrail in the bridge. To me the G&L's are the best I've ever played, bar none. great feel, great tone. They were the last guitars Leo put out. designed on the 1st guitars he put out. With George Fullerton doing the electronics. You can't get any more Fender than that, well...not after '68 anyway. I've allways been a fender man. Nothin' feels or sounds like a G&L...CGM

dude i just bought one of these 200.00 shipped
it also has wilkerson hardware...great neck...i was amazed

I have a '78 black tele with a maple neck and single coil EMG's that I bought in America for about $400. Though I'm really partial to vintage Gibson hollow body/semi-hollow body tone, the telecaster just bounces like no other guitar. Punch it and it punches back. Maximally fun to play!

if your interested in one of these i have one im looking to sell.
