hi folks,

can some of you tell me a bit about the Rect-O-Verb amps please.
is it 1:1 a single recto plus additional reverb?
or is it sounding different to the "classic" rectos, compared to a 3-channel dual recto or the roadster.
maybe someone had the chance to compare it to a DC-5 as well?

just think about getting a rect-o-verb, but i´m not sure if i really need it, because i have the DC-5 and the roadster head.
if the rect-o-verb is in between the roadster or dual recto and the DC series, i will be interesting.

any kind of infos are welcome!

thanks
joe

Hi:

I have both a Series 2 Rectoverb Head and a 3 Channel Dual Rec. The Rectoverb is without a doubt part of the rectifier family.

The 2 amps sound nearly identical thru a 2x12 Recto cabinet. However, this is only when the Dual Rec is set to silicon diode.

The Rectoverb does not have tube rectification.

Essentially they sound the same in "high gain" situations

However, for some reason that I cannot explain, my particular Rectoverb has the most beautiful clean channel I've ever heard out of any Rectifier - it easily rivals my Fender Super Reverb. The Dual Rec does not have a very good clean channel even with a Tung Sol in V1.

So, yes, the Rectoverb is a Single Rectifier with reverb.

Hope this helps

thanks for the answer.

what do you think, will it be an advantage to have a rect-o-verb besides the DC-5 and the Roadster or is it more like having another amp with nearly the same sounds - and i should save my money for something else?
