I was just jamming for about 1.5 hours on my Mk IV and when I was done anld was shutting it off, I realized that I never plugged the fan in. I usualy remember. any how there was a very, very faint smell and a ton of heat coming out of the back. Should it be fine? Is the fan a must when playing? thanks.

You SHOULD be fine. But - as a rule - let the fan run! ! !

It should be fine, but don't make it a habit. The head cabs are really small on the Mark IV and the amp gets really hot. The circuit board is above the preamp tubes and heat rises.

Haha, nothing smells like its cooking like a Marshall TSL100- that's an amp that needs a fan! You can fry bacon on those puppies after rehearsal.

    I had 3 of the TSL-122's. 2 of them melted down because Marshall put the wrong parts in the bias circuits. Absolutely the crappiest decent sounding amp I've ever owned.
