And it was kick ***! It may be my next amp. It surely was one the best sounding amps I think i've ever played...but its not an insane gain type of amp like the rectifiers etc. but the tonality of this amp was fuckin unbelievable. clean, low gain, med gain, high gain...all amazing honestly. its hard to describe and it sounds cliche but the amp just had so much "tone." i liked it better than the lonestar's i've previously played and tbh i liked it better than the mark iv i had.
honestly it can still handle some metal depending on how much gain you really need. it sounded pretty hot with emgs running through it...kind of like a more pleasing jcm 800 with balls. If you put the volume on the electradyne at like 3:00 it's like having a rectifier's gain on about 1:30, which is more than enough gain for me anyway. it has the gain but the tone/natural eq curve is not like ultra brutal/modern so metal on it might not be an ideal choice but it certainly is plausible depending on your tastes.
but one shouldn't buy this amp with the sole intention of playing metal, it does literally everything else soooo well. if i can take my dual rec 2 channel and make channel 1 the electrdayne and leave channel 2 modern red it would probably be the best amp ever made.
