I have a mesa/boogie stiletto ace 50w head and I love it. I currently have a 498t in my les paul. My problem is that the 498t's seem to hot and really hot pickups sound too muddy through my amp. I want something that thick and warm, yet I want it to be organic and articulate sounding. The pickups I'm considering are; classic 57, classic 57 plus, dirty fingers, burstbucker, or I'm open to suggestions.
The music I play is kind of punk-ish like Blink 182. The self-titled album they released before they broke up is my ultimate desired tone along with the ryhtym tones on the angels and airwaves albums. They played so many different guitars on that album though. The way I can describe it best is that it had a warm classic vintage tone, yet kind of punchy like a modern sound. My amp does the job and I know Tom Delonge uses dirty finger pickups but really hot pickups just dont sound good thorugh my stiletto.
Help is much appreciated, thanks!
