Hey guys, long time lurker. I finally went and picked up my Mark V combo today and I couldn't be happier. I have owned over the past 5 years , a triaxis / 2:90 setup, a Roadking 1 head, and a Diezel Herbert and I actually prefer the V over all of those. I am still simply blown away by the clean still. But while playing something funny was happening on the mark iv setting, it would sputter and the volume go in and out spasticly while in that mode. So the tech made sure all the tubes were snug and it seemed to have stopped. Was it the power tubes causing it or the preamp tubes?

if this problem only happen on ch3 iv, my guess would be preamp tubes (probably v3)...

hope the problem went away

yeah the problem went away and hasn't happened again yet, no we didn't do a tube swap the amp, but i guess if it keeps doing it then i will take it back to get tubes

Is not...I think you meant to say:

Typical behavior for an amp constructed with a ton of TUBE's...

If the PCB thing was true...all of Mesa amps would consistently have this problem...especially your IIC+

well, i played a gig with it today, and no issues at all, this puppy sang its heart out.

That's good to hear. I'm recording with it in the studio and I'm still amazed to find so many different Mark tones. I think I'm going to stick with my Triaxis when doing live stuff though.

I had a (triaxis/2:90/Road king 4x12) setup for live and in studio for about 4 years and I loved it. But I sold it all to pay for a Diezel herbert and Diezel 4x12, and believe it or not I was never happy with it, like i was with my Boogie rigs

That must be why the computer you're using to type that silly message has blown up on you. Right?
