How important is a phase inverter tubes balance? I have a 5751 that tests 106/108. Is this close enough, or does it have to be exact??

I would say at 1.9% difference that they are close enough. After time they drift a bit anyway.

Actually, most people prefer a very slight variance anyways- without realizing it! Preamp triodes that are perfectly matched can cancel out the harmonic richness that appears as the tubes overdrive- and that is not rock and roll
