Ohm Mismatch?

Hey guys!

So, I went out and tested every Mesa cab I possibly could today, and I'm buying a traditional 4x12....LOVE the cab....but now I have to find the funds....

My question though...when I was trying the stuff, the store owner wired some of the things up for me....I then noticed that he had the traditional 4x12 running into the 4ohm output on the recto....the cabinet is 8 ohms...

Is there a reason for this? Any tonal differences? Or just an honest mistake on his part?

P.S. I'm telling you....the pre5's don't need the traditional cab! save the funds man!
