Hi all, I just got my Mark V the other day and was wondering if anybody is using a TC Electronic G Major2.

Love the amp! Takes some time dialing in but so far I'm pretty impressed. I'm in love with the 1st Channel in Tweed mode!
 
Sorry to chime in without any useful info, but I'd like to hear about this as well. I have a G Major that I'm am thinking about upgrading to the II.

My biggest complaint on the "I" is the latency on the pitch fx, like the whammy. It isn't huge, but it is noticeable. Then again, I hardly ever use that effect anyway :) Anyway, I'd love to find out if the latency on the II is lower. I know there are some additional/improved algorithms as well.
 
Sorry I am late to the thread. I have purchased and sold the G Major 2 twice . I love the effects and programming but when used in the loop of the Mark V the AD converters changed the tone of the amp too much. It always had some weird residual modulation and it took away some of the oomph from the amp.

I am happy with the Mobius and TimeLine, but I do miss the harmonizer and ease of programming of the GM2
 
i was using the 1st gen g major in the loop too,,i didnt notice to much tonal change only the slight "oomph"was not there as stated above..that is just the characteristics of the effect loop itself,,,however with the solo boost always on it brought that ballsy tone back...the latency problems can be corrected using the global settings in the g major,,,im keeping mine back in my rack setup,,best suited for that anyway.
i dont use the g major anymore either in the loop i too have a timeline and getting a mobius soon..they sound freakin great :D
 
Not the G-major but I'm running the GForce in the loop. Similar problem with losing the oomph, but for me that seems to be related to needing to run the loop at a low level as well as having to have the channel masters relatively low so as not have the signal too hot into the input. Otherwise clipping occurs - more obvious on some effects than others.
Do others have this problem?
The only success I've read of around this was running a DI on the loop out and then a buffer/gain on the return. Having to spend another 3 hundo as well as having two more devices to make one run doesn't seem big picture to be worth it.
