I just got my Nova Delay, which a bunch of people here have.

Any good recommended settings? E.g., a good generic setting for solos?

Try the ones from this pic...

It's the dynamic with just a bit of feedback and mix and the color all the way over on digital with no modulation. Just a good generic short delay that comes in and fattens up your sound a bit. I run around 500ms but I also set it on the fly with the tap tempo.

i really enjoy the dual delay, 1/4 and dotted 8th, tone rolled back a bit, tempo set with tap!

You are a nova compensated endorser, right?

Do you have to set the gain on the pedal to the guitar and find a sweet spot? I like to switch out guitars. If this is the case how quick can you reset this live?

Thx,

Softail

RTM:
"...following numerous user requests, we added a
new dual delay types such as 1/4 and 1/8 notes. This
stereo delay is one of the secrets behind Steve
Lukather famous 80’s sound – just be sure to set the
delay time to exactly 400 ms."
This is from the Nova Repeater manual. Can't believe it's not in the Nova Delay as well.
The manual also details how to set the input sensitivity.

I'm a TC endorser, yes.. That said, I'm as big of a tone-junkie as you will find.. and I picked TC for obvious reasons! I used to have a G-system as well.. REALLY regret selling!

I used the pedal for quite a while before even doing the 'setup..' That said, I always use delay's in the loop of my amp, so the guitar wouldn't matter, unless I'm mistaken.. I think you would be fine either way.. The Nova Repeater is awesome if you don't require the ability to store presets.

Off topic sorry but... is the nova repeater really just a nova delay without the presets? Like, does it sounds as good? Same circuitry?

pretty much. the quality is definitely the same, and you can achieve the same sounds, for the most part.. you can find the details you're looking for on the tc site

Thanks everyone. It's a surprisingly easy pedal to use. Sounds great. A definite improvement over the Hardwire Delay and MXR Carbon Copy I'd had before.

I sold my 'modern' DD3 last week and picked up a new TC Nova Delay... I really like it a lot, it's very versatile.
