Hi all,

Mesa newbie here but I just picked up a DC-2 head and have been playing it for a little bit, fantastic little amp! I have noticed that the clean channel has a hiss that is present but not on the gain channel. I replaced the power tubes w/ Mesas and swapped around the preamp tubes all to no avail. Do these amps have a known history and/or fix for this? Can anyone pint me in the right direction?

Thanks!

I realize mine is having the same problem too, have not done any tube swap/replacement though..

Anyone to enlighthen us here?

Thanks!

Okay. Did some preamp tube swapping, and guess what? Loose tubes is the reason.

After I have pushed in all the tubes into their sockets, no humming/hissing as I turn up the reverb, and noise only introduced when master level hit 3.5 - 4 for the rhythm channel.

Question - will there always be noise at the rhythm channel due to the natural of a tube amp?

Thanks Ripper for the info. I will go back through and make sure that all the tubes are in there tight.
