Hi guys...
I am hoping maybe somebody else has experienced this...
and can lead me in the right direction....

I played my lonestar special last night with out any problems...
but today when I plugged in and fired it up the was no sound at all in the 5 watt and 15 watt settings but I can get sound out of the 30 watt setting in both channels....

I am suspecting its a tube problem....since the el84's are all glowing but not the 5Y3GT....

anyone else experienced this....?

thanks in advance

rectifier tubes don't glow the same way as output or preamp tubes (recto tubes are much dimmer).

try setting to solid state rectification if you can then test it...

True however there have been 2 other users with this exact same problem and swapping rectifier tubes fixed the issue. I think 30W is diode only anyway?

hey guys ...thanks....
I thought it might be the 5y3 and it was....
I searched out the other thread as well....which put my mind at ease....
I just got back from L and M with a replacement...and she is singing once again....
Its nice to see that other boogie owners and repair people like Amp tube technologies of Orillia (who also called me to tell me what my problem would be,,,) dont like to see a boogie addict go with out for even one day...
lol
thanks again to everyone,,,who replied...
this site is a wealth of boogie knowledge....
