just scored a 60 watt "no-stripe", mark III for $550 out the door: don't need another one but couldn't pass it up. This one has no reverb & no fan: there's not even a ac socket for a fan to plug in to. Except for the V30 speaker, it appears to be stock: "mb" on the back but no "R" or anything else. Anyone care to comment on why some 60 watt-ers have a fan & others don't?

The 60w tend to run cooler than the 60/100 or simul-class, I don't recall ever seeing the outlet for a fan on a 60 chassis in any MarkIIC/+ or Mark III's I have ever owned.

hm. beats me. my older 60 watter (1543x) has a fan. The other one (1565x) doesn't.
